Originally recorded as aĀ live gathering, I taught andĀ held Q&AĀ around newly developed language I have been working with, language that speaks to how we as highly sensitive people balance our lives in a world that often feels overwhelmingly loud.
Sometimes, maybe always, clarity comes through simplicity.
This concept was developed from a conversationĀ with one of you about the HSP Costa Rica Retreat, which still has a few spots left. I will not name names, but your story stayed with me.
As we talked, it became clear that you were living in The Noise, the constant stimulation, demands, expectations, and pace of a world that was not designed for highly sensitive nervous systems. It was so loud that peace felt hard to find. Even thinking clearly felt difficult.
What I felt beneath your words was a longing.
My response was simple. We must return to The Heart.
As highly sensitive people, leading with heart is our gift. When we lose touch with it, when we move too far away from what we feel and know, the noise takes over. So we spoke about remembering the heart and honoring it again.
And yet, this does not happen automatically.
I know this personally. I can become just as befuddled by the noise of the world. I can forget my heart, forget its wisdom, forget that it is my birthright as an exquisitely sensitive being to live from that place.
You asked me:
How do I keep from forgetting?
How do I remember when the noise is so loud?
And what emerged surprised even me.
You have to be able to live in The Vision.
Vision is the design of your life. It is your intentions, goals, dreams, and direction. Vision only works when it is rooted in clarity and heart. History and the present day are filled with people who understood this from a young age, Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carrey, Bad Bunny, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks. They live(d) very different lives and yet a shared devotion to vision.
So the question becomes, how are you balancing your life between The Noise, The Heart, and The Vision?
That is what we will explore together in this new Ask Alane Anything series.
In this three-part course, we focus on one of these three ways of living. You will hear from other highly sensitive people about their experience, strength, and hope with each of these three ways of living.
Together, we explore balance.
Together, we practice acceptance.
Together, we take meaningful action.
