AYHS: Self Compassion and Differential Susceptibility

Please allow me to convince you that what you do matters. Everything we HSPs do to take care of ourselves and to be kind to ourselves makes a big difference because we are so susceptible to our environment and all that (and who) is in it. And, even though there have been negative influences in all of our lives, that's okay because the positive influences are all more important and more impactful than the negative are.

Please grab a cup of tea, a journal, and make yourself cozy. This is a deep process workshop for you. I hope you go gently and take breaks when you need to rest. And, I hope you do the whole long workshop because it's really important. Go gently and with yourself and be kind, please. :-)

Self-Compassion can be challenging for HSPs because we are so fabulous at empathy for others. There is also this really important piece from Differential Susceptibility: Many HSPs had childhood environments that included criticism or shame. These became our survival skills and sometimes look like self-criticism, perfectionism, or a high need for control. This is a short exercise about honoring our past and loving ourselves into the present.
